Discover the secrets of operational meteorology and see exactly what it takes to predict the unpredictable! About the Presenters: Matt Brudy Matt Brudy was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He attended Penn State where he received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. His graduate studies took him to Millersville University where he received a Master of Science in Emergency Management. His first position within the National Weather Service was in 2021 with the Meteorological Development Laboratory where he worked on development of the National Blend of Models. From there, he worked in the Philadelphia/Mount Holly Weather Forecast Office from 2022-2023 and returned to Pittsburgh at the end of 2023. In his free time, he enjoys watching Pittsburgh and Penn State sports as well as spending time outdoors. Jared Rackley Jared Rackley is a meteorologist and forecaster with NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, where he has been serving the area since 2018. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Geography and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Georgia. Jared’s career with the NWS began in 2016 at the NWS office in Lake Charles, LA. Before joining the NWS, his first professional role was as a nuclear forensics meteorologist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In his free time, Jared enjoys spending time outdoors, photography, and traveling.
