Alkylphenols from drinking water and food consumption: an integrated human health risk assessment

At Politecnico di Milano, we explored the application of human health risk assessment to account for multiple exposures to emerging contaminants (bisphenol A and nonylphenol) due to both drinking water and vegetable foods consumption. We highlighted how human health risk assessment, when performed inside a wide boundary, allows to prioritize contaminants and risk sources, pointing out research needs to fill knowledge gaps and supporting interventions for an effective protection of consumers.
