Hi All, This is my entry for the Big Rig GB 2022. It is not a civilian truck but a piece of huge German minesweeping army material in 1/35 scale. This RPM 1/35 Alkett VS.KFZ 617 Minenraumer kit is the cheaper variant. The other kit in this range being the MENG Alkett kit. With the price comes questionable quality as the hull is warped, there is flash and the instruction part numbers are wrongly depicted. Also the fitting needs work so dry fitting is necessary at all times.. Manufactured in 1942 by the Alkett factory near Berlin, the VsKfz 617 Schwere Minenräumer (NK-101) was heavily armored and designed to detonate mines by simply rolling over them. (VsKfz is the abbreviation for Versuchs Kraftfahrzeug, meaning “test vehicle.”). The three-wheeled vehicle’s wide track was designed to clear a mine-free path for other vehicles in the battle field. The sole prototype carried the Alkett chassis number of 9537 and was registered as NK-101. The minesweeper was moving on three large wheels: two in front and one behind.
