At Wildsuits, we have taken the problem to heart. Below we will discuss the measures we are taking when it comes to delivering our orders. DID YOU KNOW 40% OF PAPER AND CARDBOARD PRODUCTION IS FOR THE PACKAGING MARKET? 40% of the world's paper and cardboard production is destined for the packaging market. We have decided to reduce this astronomical percentage through recycling. Did you know, by recycling 1 ton of paper, 2.5 tons of wood are saved? So, how can we reduce the production of cardboard boxes needed for delivering our products? Thanks to the many local businesses and organisations who we work alongside, we have developed a circular solution that allows us to recover cardboard boxes from shops in the centre of Nantes and offer them a second life. The entire process, from the manufacture of cardboard to its recycling, is energy intensive and involves many factors. It is therefore essential that we optimise the use of cardboard, so that it can be used more than once. All too often the destroyed boxes are in perfect condition and have only been used once. What solution has Wildsuits put in place to reduce the use of cardboard? The solution is to collect and reuse unwanted cardboard from businesses near the Wildsuits offices for all our shipments! This re-use initiative is repeated until the cardboard is too damaged to be used. This means the lifespan of the cardboard has been maximised, and its environmental footprint has been greatly reduced! If you run a business, or are a Vinted vendor, we encourage you to do the same, therefore reducing your overall consumption of cardboard. This solution is perfect for all of us! Cardboard is a biodegradable, strong, versatile and resistant form of packaging. This method is also practical, more economical and more ecological than creating new boxes (there’s no need to cut down a new tree and start a new manufacturing process)! What are tomorrow’s solutions? Wildsuits aren't stopping there.
