December is the perfect month for getting more sleep during the longer dark hours. And then in the spirit of the holiday season, we can take more time in waking hours to dream new life plans together with family, friends and business partners. Before you start your New Year’s Resolutions, however, it might be good to review what unrealised dreams still hover near your heart, waiting for a chance to come forth into the future. Here's an idea! Let us dream A WORLD OF LOVE into being! This sentiment has been expressed in countless books, poetry, art, music, dance, religions and cultural rituals. And yet we still fight with our families, start world wars and treat each other cruelly on a daily basis. I know it seems unrealistic and delusional to talk of a world of love. Yet I want to go on record as staking my life on this dream coming true. I envision a return to love for all people, a heaven on earth, if you will. It may take hundreds of years or only come in a future where time has lost all meaning. That being said, I stand up for love right here and now. I plant seeds of love in the fertile soil of all my daily activities. I open my heart to be warmed by eternal sunshine. I pour infinite compassion over the tender shoots popping up extemporaneously in rewilded gardens. I savour the rich nutrients embodied in the fruits of their harvest. And by the way, every dream we have in sleep is a message of love! In my book, Dream Guidebook and Journal, I offer ways to unpack recurring messages from dreams, especially if they come through as “nightmares”. If a dream really scares you, then that probably means it is literally overloaded with love! And essentially a wake-up call (pun intended). Now is the time to review the past year and touch upon where we missed opportunities to give or receive more love.
