This video beautifully captures every step involved in creating this golden elixir, made with love, patience, and unmatched purity. 💛 We begin this journey with the lady of the house placing fresh curd (dahi) into a clay pot, locally known as a “matka”. This matka helps maintain the cool temperature and enhances the natural fermentation, a crucial step for high-quality ghee. Then, a traditional churning machine is used to separate the butter from the curd, spinning slowly and consistently. This step is repeated in batches, leading to the production of butter (makhan) in bulk quantity. The entire process is natural and chemical-free. 🧈 Next comes the most mesmerizing part — the transformation of butter into golden ghee. The freshly churned butter is transferred into a massive iron kadai, where it is slowly heated over a traditional fire made from cow dung cakes and wood. No gas or modern fuel is used, maintaining the authenticity of the process and infusing the ghee with earthy flavors and medicinal qualities. This step takes a lot of time and dedication, as the butter must melt and simmer until the ghee separates perfectly from the milk solids. As the mixture simmers, the aroma of pure ghee fills the air, and slowly, the golden liquid begins to appear. This is when you know the ghee is almost ready! After hours of careful cooking and stirring, the pure desi cow ghee is finally achieved – bright yellow, aromatic, and absolutely pure. The ghee is then carefully set aside to cool naturally. Once cooled, it’s packed hygienically into glass jars for storage and sale. This ghee is 100% pure, with no additives or preservatives, making it not only delicious but also extremely beneficial for health – great for digestion, skin, and immunity.
