0n June 10 1838, 12 colonists murdered at least 28 indigenous men, women and children at Myall Creek in northern NSW. The Sydney Herald was among the most strident voices in support of the perpetrators at the time. As Australia prepares for a referendum on constitutional recognition for Indigenous Australians later this year, the nation is thinking deeply about what reconciliation looks like in 2023.
