Chicago death metal trio FRIGID releae debut EP, ‘Contempt of Decay’, out now on digital and CD via Iron Fortress Records! Spanning six new tracks plus two bonus cuts, ‘Contempt of Decay’, delivers over twenty minutes of blunt-force, groove-driven death metal, built on bulldozing guitar riffs and concussive drums that hit with enough weight to cave skulls in. Formed in October 2024, FRIGID features longtime collaborators Justin Robinson (drums/vocals), Ben Tufts (guitar/vocals), and Billy Pouch (bass). Despite their recent formation, the band has already carved out space in the Chicagoland metal scene, sharing stages with Necrot, Dead Heat, Killing Addiction, and Cemetery Filth. ‘Contempt of Decay’ was tracked, mixed, and mastered by Collin St. Mary at 19 Stars Studio, with additional editing by Zachary Pierce. The EP’s visual presentation features artwork by gloomyanxiety, with FRIGID handling both their logo and photography, completing the release with their signature frostbitten aesthetic.
