The English Riviera Express Railtour | ft. 34046 'Braunton' | 3.5.25

To kickstart the set of English Riviera Express railtours for 2025, we see LSL’s own West Country Class No. 34046 ‘Braunton’ take the first tour of the year down to the English Riviera from Poole. She was also assisted by 47810 & 57311. We first see her pass through Armchair Cove, reeling in the fame as she steams along the South West Coast path towards Kingswear. We then see her return light loco at Paignton to gather coal and water, and finally we catch her one last time through Dawlish as she makes her way back to Poole. Due to recent amounts of hot weather with temperatures as high as 24 degrees, and a fragile lineside, Braunton was not able to make a lot of power when operating, hence the 2 diesels assisting a lot of the time. None the less, she still attracted quite the audience as she made her way through the Devon countryside. Other trains featured in this video was of course the heritage services on the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway, ft.
