Investors to construct a Modern Abattoir in Narok Visiting Angola-based livestock experts have agreed to strike a 2 Billion Kenya shilling worth of deal for a modern abattoir to be constructed at Limanet’s 90-acre piece of land in Narok North. Confirming the deal after the site inspection, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu and the investors, in a media briefing at the old slaughter house in the area were upbeat of the project’s kick off in months’ time. Governor Ntutu further expressed optimism that once completed the project shall serve as a feed lock targeting 40,000 sheep and goats naturally bred in the 30 County saleyards away from forms of contamination with a market target for cattle across neighboring country Tanzania. Ntutu revealed that a fiscal meeting with World Bank officials is scheduled by end of this week to chat over a review to enable take off of the eagerly awaited project. MarioMancini, an experienced investor in Abattoir construction for over 35 years was upbeat of the green light pledging the best output that will also provide hides to nearby Ewaso Nyiro Leather production. Marcello Pronto Abattoir and livestock expert was impressed by the project which he said will be a game changer project in the area adding that the tannery was up to the game but advised on the need for animal skin care during slaughtering for value addition. Sereti Mpeti the county Executive Committee in charge of Lands on her part assured of full support from the locals in addition improved accessibility roads, water, electricity and available land. The project which will be a facelift of the current slaughterhouse is predicted to turnaround the economy of Narok County in addition to a recently launched industrial park by the National Government. The visit by the foreign experts follows a last year’s exchange program visit by Governor Ntutu and his contingent to Angola.
