This is a re-upload in order to give fuller context to what Anthony Rogers says. Context is important, right? Kind of like how context is important when reading the Church Fathers? The original video is here: • When Protestants Think They Know The Churc... Context is important when Anthony supposedly claims to be ignorant of the Fathers, right? Well, here is the fuller context of that statement. All you Anthony supporters are ready to go up in arms that Anthony was "taken out of context", yet you have no problems butchering the Fathers to no end, taking them completely out of context, in order to justify your heretical doctrines. See how the pendulum swings both ways? What makes this clip so powerful is that Anthony can't just come out and say he made a mistake using a false quote attributed to Jerome and be done with it thinking "woops, I made a mistake". He has to address the point that Pelagius himself uses sola fide language. That phrase, after all, is what made Anthony use the quote in the first place. So he can't dismiss Pelagius away on the grounds of "it's Pelagius". Right. OK. Now that we know it's Pelagius, explain what he means by sola fide. And then after that, provide an analysis explaining what the Church Fathers meant by sola fide instead of just seeing words, shapes in the clouds, and presuming to understand to know what the Fathers meant. No one will take you seriously when you quote a Church Father ever again, Anthony. Checkmate.
