Asta Krikščiūnaitė – Catalani – La Wally – “Ebben..? Ne andro lontano”

The Lithuanian soprano Asta Krikščiūnaitė (b. 1961) began her operatic career in 1987 in Klaipėda Music Theatre. While there, in 1989, she was awarded the Lithuanian Theatre Union prize for her Monica‘s role in „The Medium“ (a dramatic opera by G.C. Menotti). In 2004, Krikščiūnaitė was decorated with the Estonian White Star order (for services rendered to the Estonian culture), in 2005 she won the Lithuanian Musicians Union‘s Golden Disk award, and in 2011 she became the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize winner. Prof. Krikščiūnaitė teaches singing in the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Since 1999 she works as an invited soloist at Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre but mostly appears in concerts with chamber music or large musical compositions.
