Predators or Yautja, introduced later, add another dimension to the series. So, let’s cover the entire franchise in order. The Alien franchise began with the iconic film "Alien," set in future where the spaceship Nostromo receives a rogue signal from a a distant planet. The crew is forced to investigate due to Weyland-Yutani protocols. On this planet, they discover a crashed derelict ship with a dead pilot, later dubbed the Space Jockey. Crew member Kane finds ancient eggs and is attacked by a facehugger. A chestburter later emerges from Kane and the alien quickly grows into an adult Xenomorph and kills the crew one by one. The massacre was enabled by Ash, an android with a secret company’s directive to secure the alien for research. However, Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor, ejects the xenomoprh into space. However, Wayland Yutani doesn’t stop there and desperately tries to get their hands on a xenomorph sample. In "Aliens" Ripley's escape vessel is rescued, and Weyland-Yutani recruits her to investigate a lost contact colony on the same moon where the derelict ship was found. Along with colonial marines, the company sends agent Carter to secretly retrieve the xenomorph, endangering everyone. Everybody dies in the battle with xenomorphs and Ripley discovers an aline queen, a creature producing alien eggs. She kills the queen, nukes the colony and escapes with the only survivors Hicks and Rebecca. In "Alien 3," Ripley's escape shuttle crashes on Fiorina, a prison colony. The Alien Queen that Ripley killed managed to deposit eggs on the shuttle, spawning facehugers which led to a bull Xenomorph and Ripley becoming impregnated with a queen embryo. After Ripley defeated the Xenomorph, Peter Weyland himself, CEO of Weyland-Yutani, arrives to prison colony hoping to retrieve the last alien embryo inside Ripley. Knowing the danger, Ripley sacrifices herself to destroy the creature.
