Kalburabasti is a well-known traditional Turkish dessert. It is widely made at homes on special days, celebrations served after a feast dinner or in tea parties... Kalbur means coarse sieve, we use it to shape the dessert. But nowadays it is shaped usually with a grater or even better with a silicone pot holder. The walnut filling and syrup completes the taste of this delicious dessert... I found out from your comments on community tab and from the internet that there are recipes similar to Kalburabastı with the name ma'akaron, melomakarona (Greek), Zainab fingers (Eastern countries) If you have more information please share on the comments :) Ingredients For Kalburabasti Dessert 2/3 cup vegetable oil (Mix of olive and sunflower oil can be used) 1/3 cup milk 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking soda (5-6 drops of lemon juice when you add over the flour) - I forgot, it is optional but makes it better in result :) 1 tsp grape vinegar (optional) 3 tbsp semolina (optional) about 3+1/2 cups or more flour For the filling: about 3/4 cups coarsely chopped or braked in big pieces walnuts For the syrup: 2 cups of granulates sugar 2+1/2 cups water 1 tsp lemon juice Check this traditional similar Turkish Desserts too: Shekerpare "Şekerpare" Dessert: • Sekerpare - Turkish Moist Semolina Cookies...
