I've actually had that goal for a couple of months now, at least since I covered the version in Mario Kart 7. My ultimate goal is to have the "Rainbow Road" playlist and fill it with all my covers of Rainbow Road songs in chronological order. So, I'm the guy who covered every Rainbow Road song, DS being a great one. I've learned through my time doing these covers that I can grow a newfound appreciation for songs from my childhood that I really never gave a second thought about. Mario Kart DS and it's Rainbow Road track is no exception, because I never noticed how good the harmony and melodies are until I recorded this. It was so much fun to do. A little extra riffage in the second verse with the harmonies. I'd had an idea to do a riff like that for a while, so I had fun with it. I also finally fixed my bass tone! My pickups were set too high, and it's an active pickup system, which caused a really bad clicking sound. So, I lowered my pickups very close to the body, made sure everything was even and it sounded so much better. It's amazing what doing that can do to your sound. And, I managed to get a good mix because of it. This is the best mix I've had so far, simply because of that fix.
