Here is a chase of the LOW27, a new job created following the relocation of LOS27 from City of Industry Yard to Aurant Yard, as part of traffic reorganization in the Los Angeles Service Unit to divert more Colton carloads to City of Industry. This job is functionally the same despite it coming from LA instead of right next door to the customers. On the menu for today's train is a single SD40N, and cars for two of the four customer, GoldenCorr Packaging, and Cascade Steel. Starting in City of Industry east of CP Bassett, we catch the train hauling east with 6 gondolas and two boxcars. It pulls onto a at grade siding, while the mainline is elevated over two roadways, making for a unique alleyway of industrial switching. It switched GoldenCorr here, exchanging two boxcars, for three empty ones. With that done, it was time to run around their train and head west to their second customer, Cascade Steel. I caught them running around at the other combined grade separated crossing on the industrial siding, as well as the train flying above the same crossing on the mainline. I then caught the train passing over the San Gabriel River as they hit their dynamic brakes to stop at Cascade Steel. I then relocated to watch them switch Cascade Steel over Durfee Rd, before getting ahead of them to watch them throttle up west as they headed to Aurant at a crossing in El Monte. Thanks for watching! Train ID: UP LOW27 25 Head End: UP 1838~SD40N
