Once again, it's Wednesday, so it's time for another installment of "Western New York Wednesday" here on the channel. This week, I'm reviewing another collaboration beer, this time between the Grow Brewing Company and Underground Beer Lab, and it's their Photosynthetic. This is an New England Double IPA that is brewed with wildflower honey, and hopped with Citra and Rakau hops, then finally given Grow's "heavy fertilizer" hop treatment with Citra, Rakau and Simcoe hops. I've heard good things about both breweries, so I'm super excited to see how good this collab is. Let's find out! Our friends from Underground Beer Lab met up to help brew this hazy double India pale ale with flaked oats, unmalted wheat, flaked rye, and 100 pounds of wildflower honey. We hopped it with copious amounts of Citra and Rakau in the whirlpool and then engineered fermentation with UBL's house yeast. We then gave it our signature "heavy fertilizer" hop treatment with more Citra and Rakau, as well as a hefty dose Simcoe. Tangerine marmalade, yuzu, and apricot burst through the underlying sap for this silky smooth lab grown collaboration.
