The Preston Bitumen Tanks are taken to Eastriggs; Class 56 in action North of Carlisle 04 March 25

The Preston Bitumen Tanks are taken to Eastriggs; Class 56 in action North of Carlisle 04 March 25 Recorded at Etterby, to the north of Carlisle, at Mossband , near Gretna Green on the old Sou Western line and at Rail Sidings Limited, Eastriggs. The final batch of 18 bitumen tanks were being taken for storage at Rail Sidings Limited, Eastriggs. The train had come from Preston Docks via the Settle & Carlisle line to Carlisle Yard. Here it was split and the Class 56 took 9 cars at a time to storage. The Class 56 propelled the tanks gingerly down the former MOD tracks. We can see the other wagons currently in store at Eastriggs. It was a very windy day and thanks to a new YouTube feature, creators such as myself may as well not try to edit out wind noise etc as YT will just increase the sound balance to a level it sees fit. My apologies but it is apparently down to the viewer to somehow deal with this! The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.
