I know there's a 1000 different ways with various equipment, lighting and editing apps to take soap/product photography out there but I've been asked how I take mine, so I decided to make a short video to answer that question. Gimbal: https://amzn.to/3mj2t8m Tripod: https://amzn.to/3t2E9dP You can either do it completely free (as long as you have an smart phone) with a small investment in some basic studio lighting. But I've found that this set up and process works best for me and the aesthetic I like for my photos and brand. I prefer the bright white background that really frames the soap and highlights the design and color palette. I've found the Snapseed is the best all around and easier photo editing app out there.
