This is the mix that worked for me and it might be helpful to you. Good luck with your roofing project! Tim and I are both self taught DIY'ers. I asked him how he learnt what he knows as we were bedding and pointing verge tiles on opposite ends of the roof. He said he mainly had to learn by trying things out, but now, in the age of the internet and youtube, you get the opportunity to gain more information. He said he basically looks up information and then takes the average of what advice he can find, then find a balance. I realised that's pretty much what I do. So this mix ratio is the end result of research, and the average of the information that's out there. It may not be what every roofer does but it worked for us and it can work for you too.
