Colvin was a teenager when she got arrested in Alabama in the 1960s for refusing to move out of her seat months before Rosa Parks would come onto the scene. Unlike Parks, Colvin was treated like a troublemaker shortly after her arrest. In the 21st Century, people learned of her contribution and softened their stance.
