ADVANCED FORM TECHNIQUES PROJECT STEPS 1. TopStream, Inc. is an online streaming platform for TV shows, movies, podcasts, music, and videos. As the new projects coordinator, you are in charge of introducing TopStream's services in the Pacific Northwest. You are using an Access database to track and store company data for that region, and are developing forms for entering, updating, and reviewing data. Create a new form in Design View to list the media contributors in your region. Use the Contributors table as the basis for the form. Add the ContributorID, FirstName, LastName, MediaID, and MemberID fields (in that order) to the form. Align the left edges of the text boxes at the 2" mark on the horizontal ruler and the bottom edge of the ContributorID control at the 1" mark on the vertical ruler. Separate the controls by a single dotted line on the form design grid. Resize the controls so that the right edges of the text boxes are at the 3.5" mark on the horizontal ruler. Save the form using ContributorList as the name, confirm that it matches Figure 1, and then close the form. 2. Open the SubscriptionsAndMembers form in Design View to provide a way to enter accurate subscription descriptions. 3. Open the MemberEntry form in Design View to provide a way to find member records. Add a combo box to the Form Header section at the 5" mark on the horizontal ruler. 4. Open the MediaAndProducers form in Design View to provide a quick way to print a record. 5. Open the MediaAndMembers form in Design View to provide different ways of viewing media and member data. 6. With the MediaAndMembers form still open in Design View, add a subform to the Datasheet tab. 7. With the MediaAndMembers form still open in Design View, add a chart to the Chart tab. Use the MembersByState query to select the fields for the chart and include the MemberID, State, and MediaID fields in the chart. Select Pie Chart as the chart type. Display the MediaID field in the Data area and display the State field in the Series area of the chart. The MediaID field links the document to the chart. Use Media by State as the title of the chart and display a legend. Save the changes to the form, and then switch to Form View. Display the subform on the Datasheet tab and then display the chart on the Chart tab. Return to Design View, confirm that the form matches Figure 5, and then close the form. Figure 5: MediaAndMembers form with Chart tab in Design View 8. Open the ProducerEntry form in Design View to enhance the appearance of the form. Insert the Support_AC365_EOM7-1_TopStream.png image to the right side of the Form Header section at the 5" mark on the horizontal ruler. Position the image so its bottom edge is at the 1" mark on the vertical ruler. Reduce the height of the Form Header section as necessary to remove any blank space at the bottom of the section. Copy the formatting of the Producer ID label to the other labels in the Detail section. Confirm that the ProducerEntry form matches Figure 6, and then save and close it. Change the chart type of the Subscriptions by State chart to a Pie Chart. Move the legend to the right side of the chart, and then format the data series to display percentages as the data labels. Save the changes to the form, and then close it. Save and close any open objects in your database. Compact and repair your database, close it, and then exit Access. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
