Now consumers can book a new LPG cylinder only 25 days after the delivery of the previous cylinder. The decision comes amid the Middle East war crisis, which has raised concerns about LPG supply and increased panic booking among consumers. According to reports, many consumers who earlier booked cylinders after 50–55 days are now booking within just 15 days, prompting the government to take action. The government has stated that the move aims to prevent black marketing of LPG cylinders and ensure sufficient supply for domestic gas connections. Oil refineries have also been directed to increase LPG production. Meanwhile, the Centre clarified that there is no immediate risk of petrol and diesel price hikes, as long as crude oil prices remain below $130 per barrel. Authorities also confirmed that India currently has adequate stock of petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel.
