New Beginners Growing Orchids "Water Culture Still Works!" 1.Old Media attached to the Roots of the Phalaenopsis can cause problems by forcefully removing old media from the Roots causing damage to the Roots. 2.Old Media left on the Roots in the Water for extended periods of time can lead to Black and White Snow Mold. In order to know when to change the Water, look for cloudy White looking Water. You want your Water to be as clean and pure as possible. 3.Using Tap Water for Water Culture could lead to harming your Phalaenopsis because Tap Water has Trace elements in it that can be harmful to your Phalaenopsis Health. 4.Make sure you are cleaning your Orchid Vases or Pots after changing the Water. You must clean all old decaying media off the roots overtime to successfully place your orchid in water for extended periods of time. 5.Don't cut off all the Roots, the Phalaenopsis can still absorb Water through the string like Roots. 6.After cutting Roots on the Phalaenopsis, allow a day or two for it to naturally close to womb. Otherwise everything will just Rot or create Mold in your Orchid Pots or Vases. 7.Don't use cinnamon . 8.Don't submerge the entire base of the Phalaenopsis Orchid in Water as it will Rot away. 9.Don't give up so soon, big Phalaenopsis can take up to two years to recover. 10.Make sure to rinse off the Phalaenopsis Roots each time you change the Water. 11.Make sure to at least give your New Phalaenopsis Orchid Two weeks to Acclimate to your environment; even if you place it in a new room. Phalaenopsis Orchids are terrestrial and territorial. 12.You didn't repeat the Process of cleaning Black and White Snow Mold from the Orchid and Pots or Vases. 13.Using Full Strength Hydrogen Peroxide on your Phalaenopsis Orchid Roots will burn them and cause them to not be able to absorb Water and Rot or Wither away. I recommend using half strength or one third Water and two thirds Hydrogen Peroxide. You will hear experienced Orchid Growers recommending Physan 2020 which I plan to experiment using in the future Growing orchids Indoors. TIPS & HACKS for better Water Culture Experience Make sure the Phalaenopsis Roots have at least one inch to hang from the base of the Orchid. Make sure to give your orchid one or two dry days to help get rid of White and Black Mold on your Phalaenopsis Orchids.
