Qadiri Sufi Hadra in Morocco (Fully Translated) – Sufi Dhikr – Ya Man Tureed

This gathering took place in 2019 at the central zawiya of the Qadiri Boudshishiyya tariqah (Sufi order) in Madagh, Berkane province, Morocco, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of Shaykh Hamza al-Boudshishi. The gathering is led by Shaykh Hamza al-Boudshishi's son and the current shaykh of the tariqah, Shaykh Jamal al-Boudshishi, who assumed the role after the death of his father in 2017. The qasidah (classical Arabic poem) being recited is Ya Man Tureed by Shaykh Ahmad al-Alawi (1869-1934), the Algerian Sufi master who was a shaykh of the Shadhili-Darqawi tariqah for 15 years before eventually founding his own branch of the tariqah, the Alawiyyah. The first two verses of the qasidah can be heard recited towards the end of the video. This qasidah is one of the more mystical that I've translated so I've decided to leave it without footnotes and open for interpretation. The Boudshishiyya tariqah (Sufi order) was itself probably founded sometime in the early 20th century, but as a branch of the Qadiri tariqah it traces its spiritual chain back to the pre-eminent Persian Sufi master Abdul Qadir Gilani in the 11th century. The word "boudshishi" was originally a title given to one of the early shaykhs of the order, who it was said would feed people during famine with "dishisha", a wheat-based dish. ––––– If you experience any problems with the subtitles, audio or video please let me know so they can be fixed.
