Just brough an Roots 2 stroke Diesel back to life back to life.. The sound is fantastic but is not comming through in the video. So much for mobile phones. Had not run for years, need the following fixed. Fuel Injection pump Fuel Pump Injectors Cleaned Sump removed and cleaned. New filters all around and BANG !! starts on the first crank.. Bit smokey on power, hope it clears away or will need to change the rings. Though it does have very good compression. Its a complete commer 3DPA-199 motor. It was removed from the original truck, and put into a furniture van until the van chassis / body was beyond use. Then the motor was cut out intact from the chassis and is as you see it, complete with horns, fan drive, clutch hydraulics..etc. If you notice you can hear the blower rev up...its a great piece of engineering to say the least. This is my first running knocker and i have 3 more motors to play with over time. i also have a 59 QX 714 truck and i am hoping this motor will move it, at least around the block. Great motor, after so long it starts and runs rather well. Will try to get another clip with a better camera. BTW: That was a cold start...
