It is common to receive geotechnical data in stages, in this video Gary Morin shows how the Keynetix technology works with phased data. It builds on previous video showing how to model geology with multiple lenses, additional data is added to the HoleBASE database and the updates are merged into the geology model in AutoCAD Civil 3D, whilst maintaining all the previous edits including breaklines and boundaries. The functionality is available to both the Autodesk Geotechnical Module and the HoleBASE SI extension for Civil3D when connecting through to HoleBASE SI. The process will also work with just the Autodesk Geotechnical Module if additional data is imported into the same project, although we would recommend using HoleBASE SI as a central geotechnical data management system.
