Now that the landscape is installed, it's important to understand the best way to maintain the plants to keep them looking healthy and beautiful. In Episode 9 of our 10-part video series, Jody Latimer, environmental resources supervisor with the City of Peoria, shows Lisa O. some tips and tricks of landscape maintenance. For instance, trees only need their stakes for one to two growing seasons. Removing the stakes gives the tree room to move. Just like exercise for people, allowing it to move strengthens the trunk and helps it grow strong. Another great tip involves the newly-planted agaves. Jody recommends snipping off the sharp tips of the plant to keep Lisa's dog from poking himself if he gets too close to the plant. For more great ideas, watch the video.
