The Lasses - Isle Of Hope

We heard this song first when Dervish singer Cathy Jordan sang it in Amsterdam at the Secret Siren Sessions. It was written by Brendan Graham and tells the story of the first immigrant to register at Ellis Island - an Irish girl of just 15 years old. (She may have been 17 - not sure if the jury is out on that yet). It is part of our theater concert Near, Far - about people who left home without knowing they would ever return.
