In the Blink of an Eye: AI, Hypersonics & Their Implications - NATO Engages London 2019

With the emergence of disruptive technologies, today’s battlefield looks drastically different than it did ten years ago, and tomorrow’s will shift further still. This expert discussion focuses on the application of new technologies and their impact on future warfare. New technologies, such as hypersonics and autonomous systems, raise profound questions for the NATO’s deterrence thinking. AI-enabled systems have implications for future national security decision-making as well as battlefield threats, while new weapons technologies will further reduce decision-making time and pose heightened challenges to existing defence systems.
