"What Are You Filming? Just Curious"

Todays video brings us to the streets of Beverly Hills as we tested our freedom to record along the public sidewalks outside the establishments. Things quickly turned, after I was recording the line of customers going out the front doors, when a patron on the patio walked up to us wanting to know what we were filming, as he put his hands up in an attempt to block my camera from recording him. After he didn't get the answers he was seeking & returned to his seat, other patrons quickly began chiming in, loudly complaining about our presence. after an attempt to explain to them that they were in a public space , there's no expectation of privacy unless they created it themselves. When my explanation fell upon deaf ears , most of them said they would be calling the police. One of the restaurant managers even came outside to explain to them that they were out in the open for all to see & tried to defuse the situation as best she could. Some time had passed when two officers arrived on the scene. They handled the situation in also explaining to them that there was no expectation of privacy where they were dining. They kept asking the officers if there were any penal codes we were in violation of , for instance, disturbing the peace. The officer explained , disturbing the peace would consist of challenging someone to a fight, not recording with a camera in public. They didn't seem to want to accept the explanation the officers gave , but in the end, they didn't have a choice.
