Opening Ceremony of International Quran Recitation Competition Islamabad Hosts World’s Top Qaris

The International Quran Recitation Competition 2025 has officially begun in Islamabad, Pakistan. The opening ceremony was held at the Jinnah Convention Center with the participation of the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives from dozens of Muslim countries. This four-day global event brings together the world’s top Quran reciters from Asia, Africa, and the Arab world. The competition is being held with technical collaboration from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a prominent Iranian Qari is also participating this year. One of the highlights of this edition is the presence of Qari Shah Miwa as a member of the jury panel—an internationally renowned figure in Quran recitation. During interviews, speakers emphasized the spiritual, cultural, and unifying importance of this competition for the Muslim Ummah.
