After decades away, I finally returned to the Philippines — a place filled with childhood memories and meaningful friendships. This trip became even more special because after 40 years, I reunited with my elementary school classmates from Manila. Seeing each other again after so many years was emotional, joyful, and truly unforgettable. One of the highlights was visiting the Manila Polo Club, a place where I used to spend time with friends growing up. Walking through the club again brought back so many memories of my childhood in Manila. It felt like stepping back in time while also appreciating how life has taken us all on different journeys. We also experienced the vibrant nightlife of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) — one of Manila’s most modern and exciting districts. We ended the evening at The Peak at the Grand Hyatt Manila, a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant with breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline. It was the perfect place to celebrate friendship, memories, and the joy of reconnecting. Then the journey continued to Boracay, a destination I had not visited for almost 30 years. This world-famous island is known for its powder-soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Boracay has changed so much over the years — more developed, more vibrant — yet it still holds the same magical beauty that makes it one of the most loved islands in the world. This trip was not only about revisiting places from the past, but also about creating new memories. Sharing these moments with John made the experience even more meaningful and unforgettable. From heartfelt reunions to breathtaking beaches, these five days in Manila and Boracay were filled with nostalgia, friendship, laughter, and incredible new memories.
