The Lost Forest cottage garden is still brimming with beautiful butterflies despite the cloak of autumn slowly enveloping the landscape. It is sheer bliss to wander through the garden and be treated to a whirlwind of native tortoiseshell butterflies dancing from flower to flower and resting on my hand to say hello. The verbena bonariensis is a wonderful pollinator plant to have in your garden, no matter how big or small it is. Its elegant tubular flowers are ideal for butterflies with their curling curious tongues. The bees also adore it rich supplies of delectable nectar. We even had a visit from the very rare hummingbird hawk-moth, which was just a truly mesmerising sight.
