A 27-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu, Ridhanya, consumed pesticide and died by suicide just two months into her marriage. Despite her family providing 800 grams of gold jewellery and a Volvo car worth Rs 70 lakh as dowry, her husband and in-laws reportedly demanded more. Ridhanya left a heart-wrenching note to her parents before taking her life.
