Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions! Sign up for my newsletter here: Sign up for the DRK Newsletter: http://eepurl.com/diPxsr In this week’s episode we cover: 1. Hey! I could’t resist and casted on the drk everyday cardi on the first day! I had some stash yarn hanging out that I was considering destashing because I never found the right pattern for it but this is perfect! (Yarn from the now out of business Shibui) Im almost done with the beautiful collar and was just wondering why you opt to sew the collar later instead of folding and knitting it together? Just curious about the choice of technique! You are amazing and thank you for another instant classic! 2. Hi Andrea, Thank you so much for your weekly podcast, I look forward to it every Friday! Aside from the fun and interesting content, your positive attitude and easy going, down to earth approach always put me in a good mood! My question today is about fit/size, from one sweater style to another.. I've had Evenfall in my library for a long long time and really want to knit it, but choosing a size has stopped me so far. I'm now determined to give it a go - I even picked yarn from my stash and started swatching (row gauge is spot on but stitch gauge is off!) - but I can't decide which size to knit. You've said before that a good way to choose a size is to measure a favorite sweater we like the fit of, but I don't own a yoke sweater and the sweater I do like the fit of and I think would work similarly for Evenfall, is a raglan. So how would I go about using a raglan sweater to decide what size to knit a yoke sweater in? Would the bust measurement correspond on both to where I split the sleeves from the body? If not, what measurement on my raglan would correspond to one of the measurements in the schematic for Evenfall? I really want to knit it! Please help! :-) 1. I also love the new cardigan but can't wear this type of high collar so I wondered if it would be possible to turn it into a hoodie? I love a hoodie and I think it would look great as one.. What do you think? Thank you :-) 4. Hi Andrea, first thank you for your useful videos and for creating great patterns which help beginners to empower their own creativity. I knitted some of your designs and I wish you knit your sport yarns designs. However, I don’t have access to sport yarns. I can find easily DK or fingering weight yarns easily and I have some lace weight yarn in my stays. How can I combine them to get a sort weight yarn? Thank you 5. I love making your cowl patterns like the rad plaid cowl. I love wearing them too! I would like to know if you have any suggestions for my provisional cast on. Once I’m ready to remove the crochet chain, I find that the mohair gets all tangled around it making it so frustrating to pull out. It’s the very end of the project and it should feel exciting, but I dread it. I love the look and feel of mohair, so it would be great to have an alternative provisional cast on for patterns that have fluffy yarn. I don’t have any issues with this technique and non-fluffy yarn. Love to hear your thoughts, thank you! Today I am wearing the DRK Everyday Cardi: Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...
