ABOUT THE INSTRUMENTS: TABLA is one of the most popular and widely used percussion instruments of India. It is employed mainly to provide the rhythm accompaniment to performers of North Indian Music. This two-piece set of drums is covered with skin and is played using both hands. The one played with the right hand is known as the Tabla and that with the left hand is called the Dugga or the Bayan. The former, usually hollowed out of a block of wood is tuned to the key note (tonic) of the music while the Bayan gives a bass note. Tabla playing is a difficult art and therefore needs years of practice for anyone to achieve mastery over it. Tracklist: 1.
