Hauling out a catamaran is always stressful — and boatyards don’t always get it right. In this video, we haul out our Lagoon 450 and show how stands are often placed in the wrong spots, or all the weight ends up in areas that weren’t designed for it. Some catamarans have sacrificial keels, but our Lagoon doesn’t — which makes it even more important that the yard doesn’t use the keels as a blocking point. Every design is different, and it’s unrealistic for a boatyard to know the proper support locations for every single model. 👉 That’s why it’s up to us, the owners, to research and guide the yard during a haul out. ⚓ What we cover: – Our Lagoon catamaran haul out experience – Common blocking mistakes boatyards make – Why relying on sacrificial keels (if you have them) can be dangerous – Why the responsibility ultimately falls on the owner 💬 Have you ever had to step in and correct the yard?
