LIFX Color 1000 Smart LED Light Bulb | Review & Setup

The LIFX Color 1000 Smart LED A19 Light Bulb is 1055 lumens which is the equivalent of a 75 watt light bulb. But the awesome thing about these lights is they only take 11 watts of energy to create 1055 lumens. Although the LIFX color 1000's cost more money up front you'll save money on your electricity bill because they consume less energy to create the same amount of light as a 75 watt light. The LIFX color 1000 bulbs last longer than conventional bulbs as well. So you'll buy new bulbs less frequently. According to LIFX, If you use these bulbs 3 hours a day they should last you about 22 years. The bulbs can change to millions of colors and each bulb has a color temperature range of 2,500 Kelvin to 9,000 Kelvin. LIFX bulbs can connect with your other smart devices such as your Nest Protect and Nest Thermostat. The LIFx color 1000 led bulbs are also IFTTT compatible. IFTTT allows you to setup or create applets for making your bulbs turn on and off or change colors based on real-world events, send push notifications based on your devices activity and much, much, more. One of the best features of the LIFX color 1000 is that each bulb has its own built in wiFi so there is no need to connect these bulbs to a hub. You just connect each bulb through the app and you're good to go. The LIFX app is available for WINDOWS 10, Android, and iOS devices. We'll download the app from the apple app store. When you open the app If you don't have a LIFX account you'll need to set one up. When I open the app you'll see that there are already lights setup. To setup a new light You tap on the plus sign in the upper right corner and select connect light. Next we'll go to our iPhone settings, we'll tap on wifi, and we'll select the LIFX bulb. Now we return to the LIFX app, select our wifi network, and wa la the bulb is connected. Next we can select our location, our group, and name our bulb. We'll tap on the name and rename it LIFX office cause that's where this bad boy is going. Next we tap save, and then we tap done. Once you have more than one bulb you can create groups to allow you to turn on and off a group of bulbs or apply effects to a group of bulbs. Now that our new bulb is set up it's time to play with your cool lights. You can change the Color. You can Dim the lights. You can apply Scenes to your lights. There are lots of cool Effects that you can apply to your lights. You can setup Schedules to turn your lights on and off.
