Mount Pleasant Group - our beginnings and nearly 200 years later

For many in the Toronto area, Mount Pleasant Group is best known more for Mount Pleasant Cemetery - a 205 acre green oasis in the midst of a bustling urban centre. However, few know that our history began at the corner of Yonge and Bloor Streets almost 50 years before Mount Pleasant Cemetery was even contemplated. Nearly 200 hundred years later we operate ten cemeteries spanning the breadth of the GTA from Brampton to Oshawa; four state of the art cremation centres and facilitate funeral services at nine funeral centres. This short video shares our purpose driven beginnings and explains what was important to us in 1826 is still the underlying focus for the organization today.
