Davidoff's Cigar Bands Explained Bands are applied on the most attractive side of a cigar with the fewest veins. At the Davidoff factory, 70,000 bands can be applied to cigars in a single day. Every Davidoff cigar is decorated with 4 things. Firstly, it will feature a central logo, which usually says "Davidoff" in script with "Of Geneva" set to the right. The line or range will be indicated on the second band while the vitola will be noted on the left of the logo. There are also colour-coded ranges as well as different logos. A different logo will usually indicate that the cigar is from the Churchill range. Meanwhile, the other colours show that the cigar is from Davidoff's Discovery Pillar. This ensures that the cigar is recognisable from a distance. Davidoff used to have a line called Puro d'Oro, which only had a band on the foot. As the band needed to be removed before being smoked, it proved to be unpopular and a marketing disaster. Therefore, Davidoff added a second band closer to the head to make it more attractive. As a result, it sold well as Davidoff enthusiasts want to show their loyalty to the brand. REMEMBER to comment!
