Worried about getting your coffee fix in China? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Yuri and Natalia from our Shanghai office, take you around the city to explore several international (and local) brands of coffee shops, in and around Shanghai. Although famous for it's tea, China's palette for coffee is developing, as was shown when Shanghai became home to the largest Starbucks in the world in 2017. Beyond Starbucks, China is home to many famous coffee brands from around the world, so you'll be sure to experience your usual cup of coffee, just the way you like it, no matter where in the world you’re from. Looking to experience China's own homegrown coffee? There are plenty of up-and-coming local coffee brands sprouting up in the big cities, like Shanghai and Beijing. Mellower Coffee, Manner, Luckin Coffee are just some of the names youll see popping up throughout the city, offering the usual coffee classics, as well as some drinks with a local twist. For example, matcha green tea latte's, frozen milky drinks inspired by the local favorite, milk tea, and seasonal fruity drinks. Now, you may associate China as a tea-drinking country, but over the past decade, China has invested a lot of money in foreign coffee brands. Coffee not only invigorates you as an individual, it’s something that brings groups of people together. Want to meet with your friends or coworkers at Starbucks or Costa Coffee? These big coffee chains in China are great places to do so. There are endless coffee brand options in China. From fancy coffee served at a hotel high tea spread, to quaint cafes…and McDonald’s $1.50 coffee to convenient coffee delivered to your doorstep; you’ll always be able to find a brand to fit your needs and wants.
