ATELIER RYZA: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

The Atelier series has been around for long and it always looked interesting to me with its cozy and colorful aesthetics. Atelier Ryza has been praised all around and so a while back I took the plunge and I went on my first Atelier adventure. The game plays as a turned based JRPG with a large emphasis on resource gathering and crafting by the use of alchemy. You cannot only craft weapons and armor, but also many more items that are required in order to continue the story. The first game revolves around a Ryza and her friends who explore a mysterious island and a threat that looms over their village. But despite there being an enemy, it never feels too dramatic and that helps with how cozy this game is. All the characters look super cute, the enviroments are all colorful and the music is always soothing. I really got into a relaxed vibe while playing this. There are plenty of side activities to do and the charm of this game immediately won me over. From what I understand is that the alchemy system in Ryza is a little less complicated compared to earlier games, but it still had a bit of a learning curve to a newcomer like me. I sometimes got a bit stuck when I had to retrieve a certain ingredient to progress the story, but other than that the flow and story of the game are wonderful.
