Ghost Farms: A Hidden Threat to the Ocean 🌊 At a ‪@unitednations‬ Ocean Conference side event, we brought attention to an issue flying under the radar, abandoned aquaculture sites, or "ghost farms." These forgotten fish farms are polluting our seas with plastic waste, synthetic nets, and debris, threatening marine biodiversity and coastal communities. But they can also be part of the solution. Over the past four years, ‪@HealthySeas‬ has been working in Greece to clean up ghost farms and build a network of partners focused on education, innovation, and circular economy solutions. 💡 This event highlighted real-world efforts and showed how ghost farms—once a source of damage—can become a catalyst for change. 📺 Missed the webinar?
