1 year ago today 6/22/16 my first born son "Robert Houston III" passed away in delivery as a still born birth at Memorial hospital north in Colorado Springs. We were over 6 months into our pregnancy when this happened. One of the toughest things i've faced since my Mom passed in 2010. This is the most personal and hardest song i've ever had to write. I wrote it as a tribute to remember how much joy we felt when we found out we were having a boy and how much pain we felt in his passing. Daddy LOVES YOU little Huey,, Reborn In Paradise my son... My dedication to our baby boy "Robert Houston III" and anyone out there that has lost someone close to their heart. Love, Light and Beyond... This is the most personal and hardest song i've ever had to write. I was going through a lot of pain when this happened. Its so hard to explain my feelings about this. Me and my wife were so excited for our son to be born and had been waiting a long time for this to happen. We are both in great health and after everything was said and done, the doctors had no explanation why this happened or how. We know it was not genetic but his heart stopped beating in the womb at around 24 weeks. This was one of the hardest things for me to watch next to seeing my mother take her last breath in her battle with cancer but watching my wife give birth to our son already knowing he was gone and I would never get to see him breathe, hear him cry, or even watch him grow up, was gut wrenching. This experience taught me a lot about life and myself. This whole thing ripped me and my wife a part for sometime and we're still putting the pieces back together. Life is crazy and throws us all curve balls from time to time, I guess its all about getting through the tough times and becoming stronger from it. I wrote and recored this song 1 week after it all happened.
