Westfield London is a huge shopping centre in White City, west London, England, created by the Westfield Group for £1.6 billion on a brownfield site that was previously home to the 1908 Franco-British Exhibition. The West Cross Route (A3220), the Westway (A40), and Wood Lane (A219) form the site's perimeter. It opened on October 30, 2008, and became the largest covered shopping development in the capital. Originally with a retail floor area of 1,600,000 sq ft (150,000 m2), additional investment and expansion resulted in it becoming the largest shopping centre in the UK and Europe by March 2018, with a floor area of 2,600,000 sq ft (240,000 m2). The mall is centred by department retailers John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, as well as multi-brand retailer Next and the huge quick fashion brand Primark. House of Fraser and Debenhams have formerly been anchor shops.
