Winter Storm Aftermath: Clearing the Driveway & Finding Property Damage is tough. We use our tractor for ice removal and assess storm damage at Ivey's Family Factotum (IFF) homestead. It’s a bright but freezing Monday at Ivey's Family Factotum as we deal with the "calm after the storm." After temperatures plummeted into the single digits, the homestead is frozen solid. In this video, I take you along as I fire up the cabbed tractor to scrape the driveway. My goal is to get the ice off now before the upcoming 50-degree thaw turns our road into an impassable muddy mess. While checking the property, I discovered that the weight of the snow and ice finally claimed one of our older storage tents. I’ll show you the extent of the damage and talk through my plan to repair it using some leftover metal roofing. We also check in on the animals (Leela and Giggles are doing fine!) and discuss future property improvements, including a new culvert to fix our drainage issues.
