As co-creator of Permaculture David Holmgren has been building and refining his understanding of nature and the way it is expressed in different landscapes over more than 5 decades. This skill is something that he shares in his work, bringing together the threads and patterns that climate, geology and water express themselves as in a particular landscape. Weather you have a small backyard, a 5 acre block, a rooftop garden or a property with hectares our ability to know and understand the landscapes we live in is a valuable skill. Once you have a framework to work from you can start to join the dots and appreciate the needs and requirenents and challenges and benefits that every landscape has to offer . Dan Palmer has seen David reading landscapes as he walks through them and pieces together the clues and patterns. Feeling that this skill needed to be captured and recorded for others to learn and apply he decided to start this process, slowly and with video clips but now has called in videographer David Meagher to start documenting the process that David uses to see the natural world. This monday night 30 Aug 2021 at 7pm AEDT come join Permaculture Educator Morag Gamble and myself for an evening to get to hear about the Reading Landscape Project. We will be holding a panel discussion with David , there will be music and entertainment from Formidable Vegetables Charlie McGee and we will also hear from videogrpher David and Dan. It is a fascinating project that aims at creating a feature length. When it comes to reconnecting with the natural world this project holds a key that each and every one of us can use and share to help regenerate and rebuild our relationship and the health of the landscope wherever we are
