“Alimango” is our original composition from our 1995 debut album Pymyth Prahn. The song tackles a very familiar Filipino trait — crab mentality — where instead of lifting each other up, people pull others down out of insecurity, jealousy, or competition. The verses tell the story of someone almost reaching their dreams… only to be dragged back by people pretending to be friends. “Imbes na tayo ay magtulungang dalawa, bakit ba naghihilahang pababa?” From ugaling alimango to ugaling talangka, the metaphors aren’t subtle — and they weren’t meant to be. This was our way of confronting toxic behavior within circles that should have been supportive. But like many of our early songs, beneath the anger is disappointment. In this Unplugged Version, we stripped away the aggression of the original arrangement and focused on the emotional weight of the message — raw vocals, exposed guitars, and the tension left hanging in the air.
