Important news on Kaewa! She is now over 8300km (5157 miles) from Pukekura on the 26th of October 2025, 39 days after fledging! She is so close to the Chilean coast!! Sharyn Broni mentioned that she will let us know when Kaewa has arrived by her feeding pattern that will be picked up on her GPS indicating she has reached her destination! The pair of lovebirds we have been seeing together for the past week & a half is our dear LGK & LGL - the past Royalcam parents of Karere (2019), Tiaki (2021) and Kiwa (2024). LGK & LGL are an affectionate couple and they surely spend a lot of time now on land showing that affection to one another. LGK arrives first and he waits about 3 hours until LGL flies in. They greet one another with skycalls and mating! Then afterwards they spend time together mutually allopreening one another and bonding. Love is in the air! They are working hard on that egg!
